A nightclub called "Heaven"?

It was the Doors! It even has that written on the wall still!

The fact that he may or may not have got the name wrong doesn't make it any less heartbreaking for those of us who have some pretty damn good memories of the place. Probably only got it wrong because he couldn't see past the tears ...

PS. Any idea what happened to the Carlton Skyrink? I spent many a happy Saturday there falling on my (white-and-proud-of-it) ass

Actually, I didn't. It was called Heaven in the mid 1980s, before it was called Doors.

Closed ages ago. Ice skating is a White thing, and when they vanished, it vanished.

I Remember The Doors, and I had friends there who were going snce Heaven Days, Hell, The Doors were some of the best times of my life. Sometimes I'd go Skating at the Skyring First, Then On to the Doors (Where There's Power In The Music)for a few hours of coinage, rocking and meeting some Awesome friends

My God - I can't believe the one place I have such awesome memories of has gone to such ruin. It was the best nightclub - best music, best atmosphere and great people. It's so sad.

It was called Heaven before it was the Doors. Heaven was a high energy club/alternative club and the first night club I ever went to at the age of 16 years old. If I can remember correctly it was
R20,00 to get in including all drinks. They used to serve watered down beer.
